How Much Is Invisalign For Kids?
Every patient is different and it is important to create a plan that is just right for you. The cost of your treatment will depend on this custom treatment plan and will vary depending on the length of time and complexity. We can tell you the exact amount once we have seen you for your initial exam and consultation. We offer an array of payment options, family and professional discounts, and flexible financing. It is our goal to remove any and all barriers so you can achieve a beautiful healthy smile.
What Is The Process Like?
Generally speaking, the process is similar to other Invisalign products. We start with an iTero digital scan of your teeth, which is used to make your series of clear aligners. We recommend 22 hours a day of wear, change aligners weekly, and remove aligners only to eat and to brush and floss. Appointments in the office are about 12-20 weeks apart, and we will track your progress between appointments with the MyInvisalign app and Invisalign’s Virtual Care program.
Can Kids Eat What They Want While Wearing Invisalign?
The good news is that your child can eat whatever they want during the Invisalign treatment process, so long as they take the aligners out of their mouth before they do. Then, after a meal, just be sure to have them brush and floss their teeth AND clean the aligners before putting them back in again. It really doesn’t get much more straightforward than that.
Does My Child Need A Referral For Invisalign?
Parents love the fact that their child will NOT need a referral for Invisalign. For the absolute best results, you’ll want to take your child to a dentist to make sure they’re in good oral health before you proceed with the process. But at that point, all you need to do is talk to an orthodontist and treatment can begin without delay.
Does Invisalign Work Better Than Braces?
It isn’t so much that Invisalign works “better” than traditional metal braces, as both are ways to arrive at the same long-term goal of giving your child that great smile you’ve always wanted for them. It’s just that the experience that Invisalign offers is usually preferred by many people thanks to the wide range of different benefits it brings with it.
In addition to the fact that there are no dietary restrictions as outlined above, Invisalign is also a far more comfortable experience for the child because there are no metal brackets or wires that can break or cause pain. Invisalign by design is also by far the more discreet type of treatment option – to the point where most people probably won’t even realize your child is wearing them unless you come right out and tell them. This plus the fact that the aligners can be removed for special events like family photos creates a system that is preferred by children and their parents alike.
How Early Can My Child Start Invisalign?
While it is again true that no two kids are created equally, most experts recommend that you bring your child in for the possibility of Invisalign treatment by about age 7. This will help make sure that you are being proactive in tackling any orthodontic issues they might experience.
Will I Have To Adjust My Child’s Meal And Snack Options?
As previously mentioned, no – you will not have to adjust your child’s meal and snack options because there are no dietary restrictions to worry about. Just make sure that your child brushes and flosses their teeth after meals.
If aligners get lost or broken, we recommend you jump ahead to the next set of aligners, and use your Chewies as they may feel a bit tight. If you have any questions or issues beyond that please contact our office.
